Stress Awareness Month
April is Stress Awareness Month, a time to increase public awareness about both the causes and cures for our modern stress epidemic. People are encouraged and challenged in April to pick an action each day to benefit our physical, mental or emotional wellbeing.Â
The theme of this year’s Stress Awareness Month is #Littlebylittle.
Our joint event will be a safe space to have open conversations on the impact of stress and to remove the guilt, shame, and stigma around mental and emotional health. In walking, talking, and listening together, little by little, we can lessen some of the stresses upon us and achieve greater health along the way.
World Health Day
April 7 is World Health Day and this year’s theme is 'My health, my right’.
Conflicts around the world, climate change, and economic and political distress are devastating lives, causing death, pain, hunger and psychological anguish, threatening the right to health.
This walk is out of respect, especially, to those whose mental, emotional, or psychological health is challenged. We believe that connection with one another, particularly with those who give space to listen to and validate our struggles, can help to alleviate many of the feelings of loneliness and disconnection that we may have. Everyone has the right to better health and better healthcare. Listening to one another is one vital way to give care to someone living with such distress.
