The International Listening Association was established in 1979 with a mission to advance the practice, teaching, and research of listening throughout the world.  The ILA’s vision is to be the international leader of listening practices, teaching, and research - as a network listening professionals who exchange information and methods for more effective listening, who pursue research on listening’s effects on humanity on many cultural and relational levels, and who pursue management strategies and promote them for government and business.  The ILA has members in more than 30 countries, and is involved in listening in education, business, healthcare, hospitality, spirituality, music and many other fields.  Today we have a conversation with its current president and a past president, about the ILA’s mission.
